Ms. Doray is a predoctoral psychology intern at the Child Study Center in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She currently is completing an elective rotation in the Family Treatment Center, working with child victims of sexual abuse and their non-offending parents. She received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, where she will complete her Psy.D. in August 2002. She has accepted a post-doctoral position with a child protection team in Honolulu, Hawaii beginning in September 2002. She specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and their families, with an interest in traumatized children and the field of interpersonal violence.
Dawn also received a Masters in Sport Studies from Miami University of Ohio, where she specialized in sport psychology. After receiving this degree, she moved back to her home in Marietta, Georgia where she worked as a Child Advocate for three years at the YWCA Battered Womens Shelter. She then moved to south Florida and worked as a Childrens Counselor at Women in Distress, where she provided services to child witnesses of domestic violence and battered women. She completed several practica at Nova while a student, including work with court-ordered male batterers, victims of interpersonal violence, and child sexual abuse survivors.
