Dr. White is an
Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the
University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). His clinical
interests include ADHD, Aspergers Disorder, and psychological
assessment. A member of the Clinical Child Psychology internship program
training committee at the UAMS Child Study Center, Dr. White enjoys
working with interns and helping them grow and develop, and appreciates
the many things he learns from them as well. He is a five-time recipient
of the Red Sash Award for excellence in teaching medical students at
UAMS, and he is actively involved in training of residents receiving
their advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Among his
current research interests are verbal and nonverbal skills as they relate
to learning disabilities and public education about scientifically
accurate concepts of mental illness and its treatments. Prior to his
work at the Child Study Center, he was the psychologist for the Turning
Point psychiatric unit for children at Arkansas Childrens Hospital.
He began his doctoral career at Professional Counseling Associates in
Little Rock, Arkansas.
Dr. White received his B.S. in psychology from
Mississippi State University. He completed a predoctoral internship at
The Colmery-ONeil Veterans Administration Medical Center in Topeka,
Kansas, and he completed postdoctoral training at Professional
Counseling Associates in Little Rock. He is licensed as a psychologist
in Arkansas, and is active in the Arkansas Psychological Association.
